Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
- Blessed Alain de la Rupe: "Heaven rejoices, earth marvels, every time I say: Hail Mary."
- St. John Paul II: "The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, gradually developed in the second millennium under the guidance of the Spirit of God, is a prayer loved by numerous saints and encouraged by the Magisterium, destined to bear fruits of holiness. Although the Rosary is characterized by its Marian nature, it is a prayer with a Christological heart. (…) we want to propose it to all with renewed fervor, inviting individuals and communities to use it as a daily instrument of prayer for peace in families, nations, and the whole world."
Why this initiative?
The Blessed Mother is happy when we dedicate this prayer to her and saddened when a child never greets her or dedicates a thought to her. The reasons can be many, and we do not judge them. The Blessed Mother knows that we need prayers to be with God, to remain with God, and to reach God. That is why she desires that we pray. We can pray a Hail Mary even for those who do not pray, for those who have lost hope and faith, or for those who are too fragile or sick to pray. We would like each person to be remembered with at least one Hail Mary. Let us think about the people we have encountered today and say a prayer for each one. Mary, who loves us and is a caring Mother, will take note of it on the day when that prayer is needed: "pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
Thus, we propose to our friends, supporters, prayer groups, religious individuals, the poor, the sick, benefactors, communities, associations, and even distant Catholics to join in this mission of prayer. We place in the hands of Divine Providence the desire that no one leaves this life without a Hail Mary.
